چکیده
Electrokinetic (EK) remediation is a promising technology for soil decontamination, although basic pH in the close to cathode has constrained EK effectiveness due heavy metal precipitation. This study aimed enhance copper removal from kaolinite by integrating with compost (C) as recyclable reactive filter media (RFM) first time. Compost placed near served an adsorbent bind ions while buffering advancement of alkaline front soil. The total rate increased 1.03% 45.65% EK-100%C under electric potential 10 V. Further experiments conducted using biochar (BC) and compost/biochar (C + BC) mixture RFM at different ratios showed Cu efficiency decreasing > EK-(10%BC 90%C) EK-(20%BC 80%C) EK-(30%BC 70%C) EK. application constant current 20.00 mA further enhanced 84.09% did not show significant enhancement EK-(BC C). was regenerated acid extraction then reused twice, achieving 74.11%. findings demonstrated reusable efficient contaminated

removal of copper ions from contaminated soil by enhanced soil washing
this study investigated the feasibility of using different extracting solutions at various concentrations to remove copper from low permeability silty loam soils, which have a high buffering soil, ph of 7.6, where it spiked with copper at concentration of about 1500 mg/kg to represent soil conditions. the most efficient extracting solutions could be used as purging/extracting solutions in other...
متن کاملRemoval of hexavalent chromium of contaminated soil by coupling electrokinetic remediation and permeable reactive biobarriers.
PURPOSE In this study, a novel and ecological alternative have been developed to treat soils contaminated with hexavalent chromium coupling two well-known systems: electrokinetic remediation and permeable reactive biobarriers. The electric field promotes the electromigration of the hexavalent chromium oxyanions towards the anode. The biobarriers were placed before the anode electrode, in order ...
متن کاملImproved removal of Trinitrotoluene (TNT) from contaminated soil by inducing aerobic process: kinetic and chemical byproducts
This study describes the biological degradation of TNT by using induced aeration. Three plastic reactors were used. In each reactor 3 kg of soil were used. In order to increase the porosity of the soil, sawdust was added to soil. Textile wastewater treatment plant sludge was also added to soil. TNT at the concentrations of 1000 mg/kg of soil was added thereafter. Rhamnolipid biosurfactant at th...
متن کاملReducing Agents Enhanced Electrokinetic Soil Remediation (EKSR) for Heavy Metal Contaminated Soil
Reducing agents-Enhanced electrokinetic Soil Remediation (EKSR) was performed for the removal of chromium (Cr), cobalt (Co) and nickel (Ni) from contaminated soil. The reducing agents oxalic acid and ascorbic acid were investigated under constant voltage gradient (2.0 V/cm), current changes, pH, redox potential, concentration changes and removal performance of Heavy Metals (HMs). The result...
